Abandoned by a friend.
Abandoned

You told me it was you,
not anything I’d done.
You turned your back on me
when you said you never would.

I know you are mad at me,
that I’ve done something to offend you.
How can I make it right
when you won’t tell me what I’ve done?

What am I supposed to think?
You say you’re going off-grid,
then talk to others every day
as if our friendship had never been.

Don’t worry about me anymore,
I’ve done fine on my own.
I proved I can make it
without a friend in the world.
