Morning Jog

The air is cool and crisp this morning, so Emma decides to take an early morning jog. She puts on her running shoes, puts her coffee cup in the kitchen sink, and heads out the door. After stretching for a few minutes, she looks down the road and then up the road, trying to decide which way to go. After a minute, she thought it would be nice to jog over to the park, only a few blocks away. So, she takes off at a slow, steady pace. She passed by several other joggers along the way, greeting each one with a warm smile and "hello", or "good morning!" She jogged up through the park, and decided to take a break on one of the benches by the pond. She wanted to slow her heart rate and her breathing. She was sitting there admiring the ducks, poking their heads under the water catching bugs. After a few minutes, she looked up towards the jogger's path and saw him coming. One of the best looking guys she has seen in a long time! She figured he would just jog on by, but by the looks of it, he was headed straight towards her!

He jogged right up to the bench that she is sitting on, and said, "Good morning! Mind if I take a break here?" "My name is Jeff, by the way. And you are?"

She is totally caught off guard, and blushing, said, "Good morning! My name is Emma." She is thinking to herself, this is not happening!

He then sat down beside her and starting watching the ducks, when all of a sudden, he turned toward her and said, " I come here almost every morning, and have seen you here several times. I was just always to shy to come talk to you! I decided that today is the day! If I were to run into you this morning, I was going to introduce myself, even if I did make a fool of myself!"

Now, really blushing and trying to hide it, she answered with, " I am certainly glad you did!"

" I know that this is kind of awkward, but would you like to have dinner with me this evening?" Jeff was almost holding his breath when he asked her.

She replied, " Yes, I think that would be nice. " She couldn't believe that she just got asked out on a date with the guy she has been admiring for several weeks!
