The miracle of God's promise I received.
On the afternoon of January 29, 2017, around 3:30 pm, I was driving to class. It had been raining on and off the whole way. About fifteen minutes away from my destination, it stopped raining and a rainbow appeared in front of me. It got closer and closer. As that happened, it became more defined and brighter than any rainbow I’d ever seen. This radiant rainbow appeared to move from left to right slowly until I could see the end of it on the ground and as it disappeared into the trees on my right. Finally, it gave way to clear, sunny skies and disappeared. As it faded away, it reminded me of the promise God gave Noah in Genesis 9:13, where He promises never to flood the entire earth at one time again. Then I was reminded of how that promise also parallels our lives in that God will never give us more than we can handle – if we allow Him to take the lead and help us.

This was the first time in a long time that I truly felt like God was speaking directly to me. It was like He was telling me that all the promises He had made me months ago were about to be delivered – that they were right around the corner.

I realized that during the time that I was believing God for His promises, He was also working on me – teaching me, leading me and changing me as a person into who He wanted me to be. I won’t lie. At times, I hated the process. I didn’t want to be taught. I didn’t want to wait. But I couldn’t be who God wanted me to be – who He had called me to be, until I was willing to submit to Him, learn what He was teaching me, and to allow Him to work.

Looking back now, I can honestly be thankful. While I don’t like my situation for what it is, I am thankful for it. God has not only changed me, but He has changed my husband. He has changed my children. We are all better people because of what God has brought us through. Throughout this battle, I can look back and see God’s hand in everything – and the miracles that I had prayed for being answered. Yes, it took time – in the case of one of the miracles, it took four years for that to happen – but God’s timing is perfect.

So remember, God loves you. He is for you. He is NOT against you. Turn your battle over to Him and watch the miracles happen.
