A short anecdotal narrative.
Tower for Two

As I scope the surroundings from my tower, I look back on my upbringing, and I realise that I was always a very dull child. I never had any special talents that made me stand out, nor was I very smart; I was just plain average. Through elementary, while all the other kids ran and played, I sat alone and stared at the clouds. In junior high, while other children started dating and learning new trivial talents, I was absorbed into the newest comic issues. When I started high school, my peers learned to drive and planned forward with their lives, but I would sit alone reading and (once again) staring at the clouds. Through my antisocial deviance, I learned to appreciate smaller things. I admired the rain-heavy clouds in the sky, and I still relish the cool feeling of drops on my face. As my social contact diminished, my love of nature and arts began progressing, and I finally developed somewhat of a personality. Since I had little to no friends, I had plenty of time to become a renaissance man. I began learning about the joys of music, film, photography, paint, and writing. It was at this time that I learned I had a vast ability to comprehend and retain new skills faster than others. This brings me up to speed on what I've done with my life so far, and where I stand now is atop a lonely tower filled with empty achievements. While I've tried to fill the emptiness in my heart with trade skills, I've learned that what I've always lacked and craved more than anything, is love. I was loved by my parents and family as a kid, so don't pity me, but what I truly desire is the one person I can share my tower with. Alas, it is very doubtful that I will find my tower-mate, because I am still a very dull child.
