I have taken it upon myself to build myself up in order to find out who I am. Just for me.
Discovering Me
By: D.L.L.

I am the queen of ever damn river, and every damn sea.
I am the queen of ever rose-colored glass and fancy bottle of perfume.
I am the queen of destiny,
I define it;
The way a bird defines her song in a tree.
I am the queen of empathy and aloofness
Like a wave that separates from the sand,
but quickly comes back again.
I am the queen of loss and ruse.
Of hurt and abuse.
I am the queen of all things.
Broken and beautiful.
Shattered and torn;
but still delightful.
I am the queen of all of these things.
And many more,
you will soon learn.
You could never renounce my crown.
And I was a fool,
to once think to remove a single jewel,
so it could rest in your hands.
Because if there is less weight
it's a lot more difficult to
Drop it to the ground.
The princess watched,
but oh, not me.
I am the queen, not the naive princess
I once used to be.
And since you last defaced my crown,
I took it upon myself to leave it there on the ground.
I constituted a new one;
Built from the inside out.
Comprised of roses and thorns;
The moon, and the stars.
The sun, and songs that the birds sing
as each new day comes along.
And I found new jewels
Bigger, and better
Built for the hands,
Of No fools.
This is my crown
Built for a queen,
Built by a queen.
It will stay upon my head.
And the jewels will reside
Solely with me.
The queen of ever damn river,
and ever damn sea.
