It is a brief review of thoughts and memories
I NEED TO WALK
I was walking down memory lane one cool Friday evening while sitting in the company of the insects, rodents and arthropods for whom I pay rent. As I walked I encountered many challenges the greatest of all been remembering the reasons why I had done some of the things that I always regret doing. Another major challenge was analyzing the thought processes of the adults who ever made me stumble even if by watching me do the wrong thing without bothering to correct me.

I still continued walking silently while taking note of as many memorable moments as possible. It was then that one particular incident came flowing into my mind and touched my emotions so gently that I smiled to myself completely oblivious of anything that ever made me sad. This was the time when I learnt not to care so much about what others thought of me and instead concentrating on what God Almighty thought of me. It was the same incident that taught me that I do not always need the approval of human beings in order to make a move in my life. It gave the conviction that the most important piece of knowledge that every human being needs to survive is the knowledge of what is right and what is wrong and most importantly the wisdom to choose to do the right thing against all odds. Over the years I have come to realize that choosing to do the right thing is a battle in its own right. This is a tough battle worth fighting for. The reward is neither a fat wallet nor a loud of applause from an audience whose intentions one can never be sure of. The reward is a feeling of contention that is priceless and beyond words. Only those who fight this battle can understand the worth of doing so.

My journey did not end there. I continued walking trying to make sense of the many things that have happened along the way that I fondly refer to as my life. Something interesting caressed my memory and made me smile to myself, again! That was the words of wisdom that I have gathered from my parents. I took note of one particular statement that my dear mother kept on reminding us: that one should live in such a manner that there would be no need to hide his or her diary. Pondering over that statement marked the end of my walk for that Friday evening and as I write this I feel that I need to walk. I need to walk again down memory lane and fetch that good thing, lesson or incident which I shall share with someone such that he or she will smile every time they remember me.
