I walk through this hidden empire
The trees so grand the brush so tall
The leaves that consume the mid-day sun are wet with dew
Hush, a branch has fallen a bird flies above the trees
The leaves of the fawn bristle with clamor
Small animals scurry as the whistle of the wind shouts about
In the wilderness I am not alone, there is a hidden guardian for whom I know not
The ruler over the wind and sky that blows throughout the trees
A creator of this marvelous place that man did not touch
A swallow yacks in the trees a dear runs over the stream
The water so clear, it runs through the rocks
I hear the sound, so peaceful so pure so tranquil
I cannot stay in this heavenly place for it is not for me
I leave it to nature, I leave it to life that is in its dominion
To the wilderness I shall return, for the wilderness I will yearn
