                   crouching in the corner?
         dark without light
         dark without life

         locked from within
         locked from hope

Do you see me
                   on the floor of the basement?
         beneath your soles
         beneath the world

I'm right here
                   sitting on the bench.
         lost in the crowd
         lost in loneliness

         rising tide
         rising dread

Right here
                   standing beside you.
         outside humanity
         outside friendship

Here
                   under the sheet.
         no warmth
