Just As...

The sun is slowly rising in the East.
Granddaughter is riding on the boat to New York.
The wind is howling across the land.
Jus as we are rising to meet our new day.

Winter is in full swing and cold is an everyday occasion
Many are eagerly​ looking forward and wishing for spring
Seems nothing is lingering as things move quickly and change
Just as we are rising to begin this particular day.

The skies are clear and the sun is bearing​ down on bare trees​
The earth continues to be wet or damp​ from recent snows and rain
Potholes and patches have become one and​ the same
Just as we are driving to our destinations today

Seems a lot like the same old same old
Nothing much appears to have changed
Life goes on without really missing a beat
Just as we seem to be moving through this Thursday.

Not much happening but everything​ is happening
We are all now one day older than we were yesterday
Thousands have died, yet we are still alive
Just seems, we should be​ happy to see just one more day!
