It is about some of the effects of alcohol in the society.
THE BITTER SWEET BOTTLE

I have been wondering how on earth a parent is supposed to tell a child the dangers of taking alcohol. This is made difficult by the advertisements on all media. A good look at the advertisements on local television channels shows that those who take beer are good looking, young and energetic men and women. They are well dressed and they show that the feeling they get after taking the brands in question is just heavenly. I have no doubt that the children and youngsters who watch those adverts definitely feel that that is the way to go. It is the way to prove how masculine or feminine one is. It is made to appear cool. One need not wonder why there are so many cases of minors taking alcohol. It is also worth noting that political leaders and popular business goons are seen taking the finest brands of alcohol. This sends the message that taking alcohol is a symbol of success and the more expensive the brand, the more successful you appear to be. Where are we heading to? How shall we deal with this menace? Shall we head to a generation where alcohol is treated with higher regard than tea or porridge with our eyes wide open? Something must be done. Alcohol is a menace and its hazards outweigh the said advantages by far.
