Religion: Addition Subtraction &Division in India

Despite the advances in the fields of science, arts and trading along with a sophistication and peak of civilization, we are in the age of 'War of Faiths'. Luring the young and innocent with sound spiritual lessons while disguising it with a message of superiority and dominion over other faiths.

How is/was India different

With an enormous input of various cultural references, our country is painted in various colors. Capturing its true essence as closely as possible is the first few lines in the opening chapter of Charles Dickens', 'A tale of two cities'.

India is an anomaly of its oxymoronic situations, ideologies & beliefs coexisting in one environment. As the author fittingly describes the period, he might very well be imagining a nation, as is India today.

Is it changing?

An era where extremism is widespread openly, insensitivity needs to be curbed. Bigotry among the youth in their academic level even in innocence is dangerous. While it should be an international practice to be respectful and tolerant to the beliefs of any individual's faith and practice, at least in our country it was always taught.

This is not a reference to Hindus, Muslims, Christians etc. This is in references to every faith. Most of those that are practiced preach the superiority of their faith above others, in fact priests from all the faiths have been known to give examples of how a different faith are condemned to hell due to their practices over the ones that should be. Such messages are dangerous. The nae minds cannot use the logic and understanding that an experienced mind has.

Conversions are sought by convincing people from other faiths to be a part of this community that at times work against the balance that society held. Ghar Wapsis & Conversions are actions and reactions that are squandering the public in between.

What's the next step?

Religion is an important aspect for everybody. Especially in India, which is home to so many of them. India is a spiritual hub in the world, it is a place of worship no matter whom you believe in and whomever you believe in; in India you're right.

Violence due to differences among communities of Muslims, Hindus & Christians have always existed and there have been shameful moments in our history wherein the violence has taken an ugly turn. However, people do not realize the consideration and importance that India gives to every religion.

Most of India is tolerant and what can you expect in a 1.2 billion populated country. You will surely find bigots and extremist, but India has always fought that. And today is a time when it is all changing. Not only the right-wing group that is controlling the ruling party of India but even the minorities.

Spread hate and conspiracy and pretty soon it'll all be true. This post will probably never go to those priests who brainwash you, but all those who read this need to know.

Practice your faith religiously at the same time respect every other faith that is practiced around. Convincing someone to convert and informing the change that your faith has given you are two different things so tread lightly on those matters.

Don't change what India is. Every Indian will never be a Hindu, Christian or Muslim. An Indian will be an Indian and that Indian will have the right to practice their choice of religion. And if you feel any different, you'll still technically be an 'Indian', but that's not how we are.
