People talk about the bravery of the soldier, how much it takes for them to leave their families and go off to war, and what they say is true, but nobody ever mentions how their loved ones sit at home at night worrying about them, or how every time there is a knock at the door a sicking feeling hit your stomach like you've swallowed lead, it's hard to explain to people how you feel at the best of times, but when you're thinking that the love of your life could be getting shot at the same time you're there drinking your tea... it's horrifying. Or so I'm told, and I don't think I or any one else can understand that feeling.
