Day 4 of Thirteen Days of Halloween (write about carving the pumpkin)

"Pumpkin Saga"

My pumpkin seems a friendly sort of guy
I picked him off the grocer's shelf today
and hurried home to carve him; make him sigh!
His top's the first to go, I'll cut away...

"Oh, ouch!" What, Jack; what did I hear you say?
I didn't mean to hurt you, little man!
Now cut again: his half-moon mouth is gay...
"I don't like you!" I hear him take a stand:

"Go practice your skulduggery elsewhere!
I'd rather die a pumpkin in the field.
All nature isn't thrilled with Man", he shares.
"Ouch! Ouch! that candle burns my skin, you heel!"

I place him in the window where he beams:
"Out, out! you damn`ed light!" All night he screams.
