A poem I wrote

FACELESS

I once was a little boy

So filled with joy

But evil into my life did come

From which I cannot run

I have to hide my demons inside

Where they will always reside

Now I must adorn a mask

This is no easy task

Since then I have been to many places

And I have worn many faces

Every new identity

Brings me some serenity

I try to run from the past

But I do not know who I was last

I look at myself in the mirror

But I am none the clearer

I am a wolf pretending to be a sheep

And now I cannot fall asleep

I kill and I maim

But I do not remember my name

I hide in the black

And wait to attack

Then I disappear into the mist

As if I didn't exist

Violence brings me peace

But my hunger will never cease

Now my demons wear my face

As I hide in their place

I am entrapped

As my life is being sapped

Here I meet my end

My sins unable to mend

I do not know that little boy

But I do envy all his joy
