Three dolphins and the lady swim within the cavern waters clear. From deep below I am amazed how lucid they can all appear. (Blue waters off Aruba teem with coral and abundant cave. It is a diver’s paradise, and divers ’round the world all rave.) On limestone floor, in scuba gear, I watch the swimmers ease their way past angel fish and scads of krill to rendezvous with manta ray. The manta ray joins in the swim yet lets the lady diver lead. The dolphins flank the manta ray while in full swim on krill they feed. It is a sight to diver’s eyes-- the way life finds a harmony. Those five in flow with three in feed in unison beneath the sea. A school of squid now makes the scene to ring the five in waters blue. How magical this swarm in swim as more creatures in sea accrue! A grouper peeks from vented niche then rises like a probe so towed. He takes the time to join the group because of how their swimming slowed. The dolphins grin, the lady nods, the many krill glint silver light. The school of squid bobs up and down-- the manta ray wafts left and right. Yet overall the group moves on in underwater ballet swim. They make tight turns, the grouper lags-- the rest of them all wait for him. The lady diver swims in place with all this life of varied kind. Within the hunt I see it clear what heartfelt treasures one can find. 40 Lines Writer’s Cramp 10-4-15 |
