Cobwebs on the brain
What do you do when the lights go out
When you're halfway up the stairs
When you can't remember why
Or even, what it is up there

What do you think when you wake at night
And the room seems out of place
And you can't remember where
Or even, why it is you're here

What do you say when the sentence ends
When they're waiting for an answer
When you can't remember what
Or even, who has asked the question

When you're up the stairs
Or awake at night
Or lost in conversation
When who what where has left the room
And you're alone with your frustration

Don't let dire thoughts get out of hand
And create irritation
Don't fall into a tension stew
Piling stress on agitation

Here's what you do when your brain kicks out
Simply head back down the stairs
Roll over and go back to sleep
Shrug, I don't know - not sure I care
