Short tale
Tea for two
'Would you like a cup of tea love?'
'Alright pet'
She was dying inside, the surface chatter of madmen she thought. Years they'd been together, living moderately in 2D she yearned to feel again.
'Is there football tonight love?' She knew there wasn't. 'No, in tonight, bit of TV.'She had been preparing for this night for months.

The thought first came to her when she went in to the hippy shop in the village. She had bought two crystals and hid them behind the radiator.' They' weren't in to those sorts of things. When was it she had become an appendage to another human being? She'd missed the moment, a slow slide into oblivion she mused darkly. She was going to blow his mind this evening and how fitting it would be through one of the many boring cups of tea they had together. Enough to take him to another reality if she dosed it right. Seven was her favourite number. She pulled the packet from her pinny,as his magnolia form brushed past her. She watched him sit and turned her back on him. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven. She stirred the acid tablets gently consciously quietly with respect for the moment.

'Here is a nice cup of tea love' he didn't look away from the screen and the light danced on his profile, in the half light of evening. He looked beautiful, everything was beginning to look beautiful. He took his first sip, she lingered until the seventh, then slowly slipped away as his mind did, within the cup of dreams she had given him.

They were both free now. She closed the front door quietly. The sun was setting, and the mystery of the night beginning.
