Shadows

With every silence I woke up,
With every noise I slept sound.
With every peace they cried,
With every violence they danced around.

The cards you were playing
Were all too insane,
I reached the battle field,
But all in vain.

No one asked for favour,
None asked for pain.
Some hid in shadows,
Others worked for gain.
