-Archaic Smile- by Keaton Foster Broken Child Archaic smile Wasteful His wishes Entrusted To no one And nothing His existence In the dark He stands In blackness When needed He crawls Begging Screaming Wondering Why has this Fallen down Out of the sky All of it Upon me God’s truth Why has this All come Crashing around Down upon My very soul What did I do How could I And why Did I do it Archaic Smile Posing Postulating I’ll advised And considering Are there sins Some Ones Not written Ones Omitted Sins Unknowingly Committed Then Punishable By a living hell Just like this Is God capable Or is he Just like the boy The one with Such a smile Incapable Thus trapped By decisions made Bound By choices laid Is there nothing That can be Or will be done Are some beings Made To suffer To pay For all others Those Blatantly aware Sinners prepared Is true redemption All but a joke A cruel ploy To get some Involved And to lead Others Further astray Is the lamb Really a wolf And if so If is the wolf But a pup With regard To the real Creatures Out there In the blistering Over abundance Of darkness Of nothingness Archaic smile For a time Longer Than desired He has tried That boy He has stood And faced What many If not all else Would flee Screaming Yelling God of grace Please save me For I Am powerless With regard to Saving myself Archaic smile Showing truth In deep darkness Showing hope Regardless of such Absolute blindness Broken Child Archaic smile Wasteful His wishes Entrusted To no one And nothing He is committed Will he be redeemed Or is such redemption All but wild speculation Held by him And all else… Archaic Smile Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2015. |
