My salvation in a nutshell |
There I was, lying uselessly in the dark, Reaching out to grab anything to soothe the pain, Anything to distract my troubled conscious, Leaving my problems unsresolved, my talents wasted, My hope diminished. Suddenly, my breathe hastened, Vehemently heaving, my chest all but caved, A lightness fell upon my head and seconds later... I wretched. I wretched and wretched until every ounce of black sludge, exited my being onto the floor before me. Instant relief, a feeling similar to painkillers after surgery greeted my soul, But this too was short-lived. Coming together, the sludge materialized into a dark figure, Whispering lies, screaming unpleasantries, But most unsettling of all.........laughing, Mocking me in a sense, as if It had me right where It wanted me. Fortunately, my dark adversary missed something. It no longer possessed my physical, for when i flushed the evil out, I inhaled Him, and at that moment I had seen the other side, the promised land. Confidence surged throughout my veins and i knew all. Standing, juxtaposed of me and unaware of my transformation, The fiend began to utter a series of chants in a hushed manner. Noticing this futile attempt at a rite, A smirk spread across my face. Finally noticing the change in my demeanor, It began to snarl. Confused, frustrated. Without my control, I turned my back on the phantom and marched. A peculiar force had fell upon me, commanding my body to act without signal. All at once, blinding light blasted from what seemed like all sides of the evil room, Appearing from no where, a lone door now stood, closed, in the direction I was headed. Ever so softly, the door opened without even the slightest creek. Simultaneously, a shriek loud enough to shatter ear drums from miles away, reverberated through the now brightly lit room. Unflinchingly, i carried on. |
