We may not have it all together, but together we have it all.
I may not have all the answers,

but I have it all with you.

You knocked on the door of my heart

and I answered,

weary of who and what lurks out there,

yet dropping my guard all the while

to allow a kindred spirit

to enter the threshold

of my life,

of my love.

It’s always a risky business

to open oneself up to another,

yet I knew from the start

you would handle my heart

with kid gloves,

and feed my soul

as it needed to be fed,

as a true man of honor

would do for his woman.

And I,

ever a fan of reciprocity,

will hereafter strive to return the favor

for love is not a one-way street,

yet a dance of two bodies,

two minds,

two hearts

and two spirits.

We will feed off each other;

not as vampires would suck the lifeblood from their prey,

but as a honeybee would suckle the nectar

from a fresh bloom

only to return to the hive

and get to work.

We gaze together

upon our limitless sky

from the same vantage point

of two people in sync

with one another.

You are the drumbeat to my song,

the bee to my bloom,

and as we tango through life

together

I’ll cherish every memory made

for no minute is guaranteed on this earth;

but I know we will permeate the cosmos with our love,

one that will defy all concepts of time and space

and one that will spread like a forest fire

consuming all in its path

with a peaceful adoration for each other and life itself.
