The fear that comes with lightning
Lightning

Like a long finger from the sky
The lightning points with precision
Who or what does it seek with its eye?
With terror we wait for its decision.

The darkness becomes light
Brightness flashes around us
The lightning laughs at our fright
Its searchlight has found us.

A tall tree is hit and its branches shriek and break
We feel as weak as a flower
The scene is hard to take
As nature displays its awesome power.
