A bird tries to fly when his mother is out |
Three baby birds sat in their nest Mother flew out while they were at rest. The oldest woke up and looked around Then woke his siblings, who all frowned "Mother's out", said the oldest "let's learn to fly!" "No, no, no, it's dangerous," the others cried. "What if we fall?" "This tree is so tall!" "It's easy, just watch me!" "Just jump and flap your wings," said he He jumped and flapped and fell back down and tried again, what a clown! "That's not how you fly," his siblings said "Please don't try again, before you end up dead!" But this baby bird was determined to soar And so he tried once more. His siblings sighed and watched him flail "It's not going to work!" and they grabbed his tail. "Let go of me! Let me go!" squealed he "Not unless you leave flying be!" "Please go back to bed" His two sibling plead "Get some sleep before you try again" "Flying isn't instant, only time will tell when" "Wait for Mother to come back, and she'll teach us all" "She'll be there for us if we fall." He settled himself back inside With a sigh, he said "Well, at least I tried." 24 lines, for Writer's Cramp 3/13 Edited to 28 lines, 3/31 |
