A poem about how one feels about the world
Once upon a time,
There was a void inside of me.
I traveled through its emptiness,
To dark to even see.

Then one day, I bent down
To lay my hand upon the ground,
And grass sprung from below my fingertips
And a world grew all around.

My own place, where I was loved
With people who would talk to me
The most wonderful place for a lonely soul,
A harmonic scenery.

But outside this world is another place,
Where people struggle to see
This wonderful place full of happiness,
This world inside of me.

Its at times like these I travel there,
On my mountain I call home.
Where I stare into the deep blue sky
That curves slightly like a dome.

Its here that I refuse to cry,
Its here I wish others would see
That there is hope in every void,
And it made a world inside of me.

I tried to explain it best I could,
But people don't understand.
They lost the definition of happiness,
Inside, their void expands.

Alone and on a mission,
I start carefully to explain,
"My friends, you must please listen,
There is no need for all this pain,

For once upon a time,
Like you, I had a void inside of me
And I traveled through its emptiness,
To dark to even see.

Then one day, I bent down,
I laid my hand upon the ground,
And grass sprung from below my fingertips
And a world grew all around..."
