The Fountain

By Lisa Noe*Cat2*

The fountain is beautiful

Water spurting toward heaven high

The floral trees surround it

And when they lose their leaves

They gracefully tumble into the water.

I see the coins that someone wished upon

They pinned their dreams on wishes,

They hope they will come true.

It has stood for many years

Seen many a dime dropped in.

The children encircle the fountain in the spring

Hiding eggs around it and playing hide-n-seek.

The wishes are like diamonds

They are cherished by the dreamer,

Who believes they can come true.

My last dime goes to the fountain

As I wish for happiness with you. *Heart*

I guess I’m just a dreamer

Wishing in the well,

The fountain stands forever like a beacon us all.
