A Small Piece of Life

sometimes,
i feel so small,
as i look out,
on the ledge,
of eternity.

i am soaking in,
its vast existence.

it beckons to me-
do you see?
do you feel?
do you breathe me?

sometimes i forget,
to enjoy its,
sweet perfumes.

to feel warmth,
and delicate beauty.

i'm shaken,
i'm forced,
into reality.

then i feel it,
envelope me,
suffocating me,
as it squeezes,
life out of me.

and again...
i inhale,
i breathe deeply.

knowing i am,
a small piece,
of this fragile,
existence,
we call life.
