To my daughter
Last night we danced.
It was a bit awkward.
I’m six foot two
And you’re barely three—
In age and in height.
But you melted my heart
When you smiled at me.

So young making memories.
Memories that will live in you,
Even when you’re grown—
Which I hope to see.

Today I’m looking down on you,
Tomorrow I’ll look up to you.

My sweet daughter,
Keep that smile forever.
