Friends
Strangers transfixed
The same point
In a different place
You swear relation
While I declare
A deep seeded need
For further isolation
In a room full of people
I am always alone
In a room full of strangers
You are quite at home
Acceptance is your gift
Avoidance is mine
These words
They are tentacles
Your open mind
A viable receptacle
I hold nothing back
Because I have
Nothing at all
I am alone in my heart
In the core of this soul
Here I’ll always be
That is the real me
This
All of it
Not so accurate
Not so absolute
What I’ve said
Most of it
Lies upon lies
So much so
That the truth
No longer
Is it known
By the real me
Who am I
What am I
I don’t know
How could I
Really I cannot
You
And I
Parting time
On planet earth
Participating
While alive
It could be worse
Much
These words
Every damn one of them
Are for you
May they masticate
At the recesses
Of your cranium
May your head
Hurt at the idea
Placed upon your alter
May you struggle
Just as I often do
Feeling somehow
Connected
Someway infected
May the darkness of me
Become what you see
When nothing else
Comes into view
You
And I
Strangers doing time
I’m here
You are somewhere
Not so very near
Living what to you
Must be life
While to me
It’s something else
Something far different
Then can be expressed
So I lie
Through my words
And these ways
Wisdom and pain
Placed upon your chest
Take it all in
You
And I
Different
Thus connected…
