A poem about feeling like giving up
What are you laughing at? Spat the little girl,
to the sky above her hair, to the Moon whose smile had spread.
The little girl looked down, shedding her little pearls
For the world had hidden her smile and given her pearls to shed

She wore a broken smile, whereas the Moon's was pure,
to break her heart in two, the world had made damn sure,
because for the broken-hearts disease, there just isn't any cure

The little girl sat lonely, and gazed upon the stars,
maybe that exact same number, was the same as all her scars
she knew she'd tried to run, but had only gotten so far,
because flying with broken wings is a little too much bizarre

The fatigue of the defeated warrior, hits us all with tender touch,
when to give in? when to keep fighting?
when is it just mingy or when is it just too much.

Because she'd been to the lion's den and heard his mighty roar,
and then she saw the lion fight and get hurt right to his core.
Because she knew her hope had fled and had hidden behind locked doors,
because her dreams had sailed away, and had never gone ashore
...and that's all that she could think of as the little pearls tore down her world.
