The Writer's Cramp - Whose dog is barking outside ?
A Night to Remember

That night gave me fright,

Alone under the warmth of my blanket,

The air was cold, sent chills down my spines,

Accompanied by the lamp light,

And the sound of crickets from outside.

I thought it was all fine.

A loud barking sent me awake,

''Whose dog is it?'' I thought hard,

I've never own a dog for God's sake,

Fear started to creep into my weak heart.

I'd decided to give it a check,

Making sure it was not a ghost,

Took the torch and headed to the door,

But there was nobody to watch over my back,

I kept fingers crossed and hope for the best,

Praying silently, more and more.

I'd gathered all my courage,

To turn the metal knob,

The door opened with a squeak,

Gladly there was nothing strange,

Not even in sight, a dog,

I'd wanted to take a further peek.

Suddenly the wind blew fast,

Felt like the temperature fell below negative,

My sweater was almost blown away,

Swayed with the wind, the grass,

Tried to always think positive,

Although I felt something bad would happen anyway.

Then I saw a woman in black,

She was apparently walking her dog,

But her face was covered in blood,

I tried really hard to run back,

But a force made me stop,

I really thought I'd be gone for good.

After that incident I found myself in my bed,

I cannot decide whether it was real or not,

But I tried not to mess up with my head,

I thought the woman was just paying me a visit.
