The Penguins Christmas By Lisa Ann Noe ![]() This is an Abhanga poem I went to the zoo this morning While there I saw a penguin It was really genuine I rarely see such a site It was wearing a Santa hat Getting ready for Christmas I bet A tree decorated near it set I got too close and it lunged at me I believe it was a brave little thing It gave me quite the scare Of that, I wasn’t aware That they could be aggressive I fell backwards on to the ground I just can’t believe a bird gave me a scare Now I look for birds everywhere Because I am afraid of a penguin Though my husband laughed at me He said the bird could be my friend And it could be a merry Christmas in the end I think I’ll dream about my little friend tonight. I’ll leave the zoo not being afraid of the lion or bear But instead being scared of the tiny winter bird I know it sounds absurd But that is my final word. |
