![]() ![]() ![]() words:226 lines 34 The Genesis Poem By Lisa Ann Noe ![]() He painted a great picture with a stroke of his hand His canvas was earth and his creation was this land Created he birds, fowl, and every sort of animal Along with the fish, the creeping thing, even the devil. He blew his great breath to all of the surround He fashioned a scoop of earth from the ground Another breath did he blow on the dirt And alive was a man in a garden to work This man was alone none like he did exist. Surely the Creator would not make him resist. Asleep he fell and from his bone a woman was made This is your mate she is made of you and is not afraid. The devil did watch these goings on all. He vowed then to make the woman fall A baby she’d have in pain she would feel The man would work hard in a garden he’d till. The brother would rise up against his kin His brother he’d slay it’d be the second sin First being defiance of the Lord That ‘s why a man must die by the sword. But yet the Lord stays with us day after day Many will follow his lead in that way In the future the past will come to life Because God has promised an afterlife. words:226 lines 34 |
