A dream of true love |
Every time I think of you That stupid smile appears on my face Every second of every day Iâm counting down, Taking life as a race. I only see you once a week Those precious hours of my life And when you dont appear there It cuts me like a knife. Your face is the only thing I can see Which makes tests impossible to pass Cramming that stuff in my head My marks are coming last! If only you knew what you meant to me And that I meant the same to you And if you decided to leave My life would be dull and blue. I have this dream of you and I, We are walking hand in hand You'd kiss me on the cheek As we walk, bare foot, in the sand The salty breeze brushing my face As the water washes over our feet You suddenly stop and pull me down And tell me to take a seat. And then we would talk For hours on end Of fantasy stories and real life After all you are my closest friend. You'd tell me to watch as the white horses dance At every breaking wave Galloping slowly, then suddenly prance Onto the sand, which is its prey. And as the sun begins to set Turning the sky a fiery glow You'd pull me up and tell me Unfortunately, it's time to go. You'll tell me to jump on your back With my arms around your neck Your hands under my knees as we laugh all the way Then you put me on the deck. Taller than you, I would be As we hug one more time Then you would say to me, Good bye for now Princess of mine Be happy so that the sun will shine Then you'd walk away And I would go inside To find a letter You always leave behind What a perfect life That would be For the whole world Both you and me But that life is only a dream The alarm clock ringing in my ear Warning me that its not real And Iâm to wait another year. But every time I think of you That stupid smile appears on my face Every second of every day Iâm counting down, Taking life as a race. I only see you once a week Those precious hours of my life And when you don't appear there It cuts me like a knife. |
