Accepting reality and change, with the small promise of hope.
I walk in darkness along that shore,
Once bathed in light but not anymore,
A time long passed and seen before,
Stranded here by a once open door.

Into this world, for you are me,
More beautiful than the stars more beautiful than belief,
A ray of warmth on a long cold eve,
The same we be, for I am you and you are me.

I stroll in light, bright shining sun,
This shore is where it had all begun,
I found you here, enveloped and fun,
Fun times and smiles and joy by the tonne.

The sun was high with nothing to compare,
The waters so pure, it was so beautiful there,
For a while we lay embraced in a timeless stare,
I'd follow alongside you, follow you anywhere.

The sun hung low, long shadows cast,
I thought this day would always last,
If I knew this day would fall into past,
I'd have never wished it away so fast.

I would never have let go of your hand by that shore,
Never taken my eyes from you, never let you close that door,
I had never felt so much before,
I wish, I wish I could kiss you once more.

The feel of your skin, the feel of your touch,
I have never missed anything quite this much,
I wish I could hold you in an eternal clutch,
I wish you were near, I wish, and wish, and such-and-such.

Along this darkened shore I walk so slow,
Breathing for sake, inhaling for show,
I can't tell the time, I lost it long ago,
I stare into the sea, deep fathoms below.

You lost? A voice from behind comes light,
You are lost and yet not gone, it says in delight,
We will be me, I reply with all my might,
This shore will not forever bathe in the night.
