Almost ten years,
a decade, half a score
at writing.com
and I still want more!
My asylum, my family,
my gang and my home--
I'm firmly ensconced:
no where else shall I roam.
A hammer and chisel,
long a symbol of mining,
My prospector's tools
when for poems divining!
The party begins
the 1st of September,
and my very first one
I'll always remember!
The year I turned yellow
back in 2005--
into the fray,
did I cannon-ball dive!
The contests, the gps, the reviews--
so much fun, such a thrill
and each years it's grown bigger
exponentially, as I bet it will
for the next number of years
and maybe someday
there'll be another real time gathering
the way
they once did, oh I'm hoping so
and if there is,
this time I'll go!
