My Entry: Life of Praise

As the sun rises every morning
I awake to birds singing.
Feeling joy in my heart
as this new day starts
all I can say is thank you Lord.

For He gets all my praise
for the things that He gave
me to enjoy in this life.
From friends who can say,
"Your butt looks big in those jeans."
Then in the next moment
invite me out for ice cream.

To the job that I have today
where even though I am young
people listen to what I have to say.
Because of the rule that I adhere to
which is do unto others, as you would have them do unto you.

In hard times, my neighbors are there
to help me out without a care.
They ask for nothing in return
and as I pray at night I feel my heart burn
with such a fierce love for Him and them,
that nothing else can compare.
I fill with warmth thinking of the things He has done
I go to bed and await a new day to come.
