A special poem about waiting on the day to come after each time the night falls.

Reasonable
Feasible
There
In a second
Just as the sun
Climbs
Rises up
Escapes
The darkness
The blackness
Of what if
Just as it comes
I let out a sound
A skyline scream
Just to let it know
That again
I’m still here
Alive
Astounded to see
Another new day
Considering my ways
I never take
Any of them for granted
I should not be here
Time and again
I’ve resisted death
Fought the end
And somehow
Again I have survived
Made it from one day
To the very next
This one is no different
I’m here
Standing
Watching the sun
Break the spine
Of the horizon
Climbing through the sky
Settling just right
At the peak of day
I am still amazed
Between 11:59
And 12:01
I’m feel more alive
Than any moment
Of any part of my existence
As the sun starts to fall
Downward it goes
Peacefully and slow
In opposition to me
And all of humankind
Eventually is disappears
Sinking below
The scenic flow
Turning every light
Dark
Shading shadows and shapes
Blending everything true
Making all things absolute
So pervasive
All encompassing
Thus my
Skyline scream
This is no dream
Just a reality made
By the cycles of the sun
And the darkness
Back and forth
Life and living
In between I’m resting
Hoping that again
I’ll see another
I’m not ready for the last
I’m waiting on the next…
