The lament for the lost golden past |
I It was a perfect day, when I woke up And found that the sun just rose Ignorant when I stood up That a perfect day was so close It was a perfect day, when I woke up And saw the sky in sparkling blue But what a perfect day was to come I just really had no clue There are people who often say That while the sun shines, make hay But the sun gleamed brightly for me All round that perfect day II It was a perfect day, that when I sang Everyone chanted along It was a perfect day when everyone wanted to be A part of that euphonious song It was a perfect day, when I relished My life’s most memorable times When a mellow tender wind chorused While smoothly striking my life chimes I just sank into the happiness bay And happy sun’s each ray was The sweet birds said warbling This day is a perfect day III It was a perfect day when the fickle time Was flowing for me and with me It was a perfect day when a jovial moment Every second I could see It was a perfect day, when life seemed flawless And felicity brushed my hair So I strolled freely along the odyssey Without any stress or any care That beautiful summer morning of May Unraveled a smooth little way On which my life walked upon During that perfect day IV That perfect day has gone forever Which was a treasure to me What will I do with my eyes? With no such day to see That perfect day was a golden past Which affects my life till date I would have enjoyed it rather more Had I known my present fate Those were the times where my heart lay To feel them once again, anything I could pay Every night my dreams’ doors Are knocked by that perfect day V Will that day ever return? With whose every second I am hit But that pain is a sweet one I enjoy its every bit What that day meant to me, I can’t portray But I need its resolute wind to break away When will that wind spread its symphony? To bring with it another perfect day Till then I can patiently Just wait for that perfect day……. |
