a true story about a goat that stands next to the highway and watches the traffic go by.
Billy

                            By Lisa Ann Noe

On that busy mountainous stretch of road I see a goat on the cliff side up high

He stands there overlooking the world, finding a bite of anything to eat.

Tin cans, grass, and limbs from a tree are just the thing for him you see.

He’ll crunch and munch and stands oh so tall, making me smile, I hope he don’t fall.

I call him Billy and he’s black and white, he is a welcoming and beautiful sight.

He has been here for years don’t you see, as he stands beneath the the big shade tree. Every one knows the tale of the goat with the curious habit of overlooking the highway, and watching the traffic.

Children love to see him standing there as do their parents , many stop to watch him watch them

As they snap a picture of the unique creature to share.  I’ll see him tomorrow, I’ll stop and I’ll stare.

The End
