No Good Deed…

If I give someone a helping hand
If I provide him with the legs to stand
Will he use those legs to find a job?
Or will he use them to run from the man he robs?

When I see that man, there with his sign
And give him five dollars, just to get by
Will he use that money to buy some food?
Or will he use that money to buy some booze?

It’s hard to know the right thing to do
Or how that man will respond to you
You have to believe that most people are good
And that your help is well-deserved

Your bit of help could save his life
Or he could stab you with a knife
Because no good deed…
Is guaranteed.
