There is a point when love cannot be saved, when it must end, when lovers must part ways.

Back to back
Opposites now distract
Walking our different ways
Parting connections made
Separating from each other
Being as one under God
Has come to mean nothing
All vows to be broken
All promises to be shattered
The reasons are quite clear
The end of us is surreal
Our love is nowhere near
As when we stood here together
From the day that we uttered
I do
We have been coming apart
Ripping at the seams
Back to back
Our very last attack
Our one final fight
An all-out brawl
Scarping tooth and nail
Survival of who’s fittest
Again
Let’s make it work
As we miserably fail
It’s always been over
Never ones to admit defeat
We focus instead on blame
Who caused the demise
Of what we once had
Was it you
Was it me
Such answers have become
Greater then what led us here
We’ll never really know
We will only assign blame
In the future when others ask
What ever happened to you
We’ll just pin it on each other
We’ll just say things
That are beneath us
We will bold face lie
In order to make them see
That the end
Needed to be agreed upon
Walking our different ways
Escaping our handmade pain
Setting ourselves free
From every responsibility
We promised each other
In the castle of our God
In front of his witnesses
That our love and life
Would be for better or worse
We swore to each other
So much for promises to be kept
So much for ideals once meant
Now it is time for us to part
To walk away and never look back
I’ll somehow deal with the pain
And maybe you’ll do the same
I’ll never really know
Walking our different ways
Is all that now remains
One step in front of the last
The end of us and our love
Is just as simple as that…
