I Found Paradise In Her Embrace Froth of white water, the nipping air, the teething ice, Overwhelmed by my feelings, tormented by salt and ragged breath, forced Under by the current, my eyes deceived me, the colors of darkness, Night‘s domain, terror’s playground, shut them off, blinded my eyes, only Death dances in this place where shades creep in the endless abyss. Painful truths. struggle and flail. no life amongst the dead Arrays of billowing waves. Crashing currents. Shades crept closer. Ringing in my bones. The ice cracking into it. Alas! My heart stops. My blood freezes. Damned by the sea’s piecing nails. It’s all gone. Lost. Forgotten. Sorrow. My only company. Sorrow. My only comfort. The day eclipses on my life. It echoes my dying cry The icy sea my tomb. Not even gods tread in my prison …yet…why…? Hands of warmth gripped my own, Ecstasy Fire ran through my veins, my heart, As my blood melts and boils Emptied of Frost. Emptied of Pain. Gorged with Warmth. Gorged with Life. My body stirred full of heat as I felt the smoothness of the hand’s skin, My eyes awoken to blinding light, My body wrapped in white blankets and soft cloth Sterile air kissed my feet I crept forward upon this plain, free of water, free of ice, as a new light blinded me and an Embrace of another, hair of sun, skin warm with flush, and gentle tears wet upon my chest, ….Is this? Home? Paradise? |
