A complex poem in my own way about relationships. Cheers.Keats |
-Walking Different Ways- by Keaton Foster Two people Walking Different ways Neither knows The other One heading on One moving back Both about crash Both about to cross paths Intersecting realities Cataclysmic dualities For one or both The collision could be A fatalistic event We’ll never know Until the smoke clears Until fate rears Until what we believe Is thoroughly tested We pray Because we know Or should it be said Because we assume We stop and watch We fight to lend aide Because we deeply care Our hearts are big Even for strangers Playing such a game as this Fate is always in control Deciding with no rhyme Or any reason Who will live Who will survive And if need be Who will brutally die Two people Walking Different ways Neither knows The other One heading on One moving back Both about crash God above is the force Propelling them Both forward and in reverse Testing them All the while knowing Whether or not They have already failed None of us Deserve to be crash dummies None of us want to Prematurely donate Our vital organs Walking Different ways Both with one foot in the grave And the other foot Mashing down the proverbial gas There are others Just as there are other intersections Pathways of contention Thoroughfares of resentment There is always a toll collector One asking to be reassured Through the intrinsic value Of our souls turned cash Hundred dollar bills ya’all Direction and cause There is no waste In knowing where we are going Just as there is no waste In knowing where it is we have been Walking Different ways Without question At some point Now or much later on Will lead us to the same destination The same moment in both space and time When two beings come crashing into one… Walking Different Ways Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2014. |
