An homage to the only feline that chose to grace me with his presence.

Itty bitty super kitty,
Tiny, fluffy, a tabby, pretty.
In body so small, in voice a giant,
He meows, purrs and talks, sometimes defiant.
He stalks, he crouches, he suddenly pounces,
A great deal of energy for a cat of sixteen ounces.
He pokes, maybe cuddles, sometimes enjoys a short pet,
But don't rub his belly, he doesn't like that yet.
Itty Bitty is curious, it's part of his charm.
He can't help but be nosey, he doesn't intend any harm.
A tumbler of milk how can he have a taste?
He squirms into the tight glass, and rolls with it in his haste.
A strange item that fills with water and empties with a flush...
A misstep, a tumble, sudden contact with very cold water, then a panicky rush.
Flowing warm water, swiping, lapping, oh what luck!
Itty Bitty finds himself in a slippery bathtub needing a rescue pluck.
To run, to cavort, to streak without a care,
To jump into an irresistible box and careen down the basement stairs!
A doorway, it's open, it beckons, it's inviting,
Slam! It's hot, it's a dryer, oh no...where's the lighting?
A much larger doorway with alluring sounds from outside...
Patient timing, a quick dive, in the green bush he can hide.
At the window Itty Bitty sits alert, a whistle he has heard,
Muscles tense, tail twitches, he stares intently at a bird.
He learns to jump and in one effortless leap he lands on the table...
Itty Bitty is proud and he struts, he ignores, "bad cat", it's only a label.
He's much heavier and older now, our grey-furred tabby kitty,
He rules the roost, has the last meow, our housecat, Itty Bitty. ( 28 Lines ) (285 words)
