What is the phrase of the day on the Mik and Nick show?
Mik and Nick Show

"The pelicans, sir, had nothing to do with it! Is the phrase of the day here on 99.9 Bird FM. Local radio station of Pelican Harbour. Be the ninth caller when you hear the pelican song and if you have not heard it before do not worry you will know it when you hear it, trust me. This is a beautiful morning here in Pelican Harbour today with the sun shining and the pelicans roaming around doing their pelican thing. I am going to take you to a song now. The Sunshine Song by our local band Red and the Boys. These guys are going on tour across the US, when dates become available I will get those out to you. So here it is."

"Great beginning to the show Nick," says Nick's side kick at the controls. She gets up and pours herself a cup of coffee and checks the time. "Get ready 60 seconds till show time."

"Thanks Mikayla. I can't wait till the call in phrase promo is over. Yesterday I had someone tell me the phrase was 'Dude, where's my car?' Then he shows up here demanding a prize he didn't win, was hilarious. You miss the best stuff when you call in," Nick gets ready putting his headphones and getting his radio voice ready to go.

"I should know better by now. Five, four, three, two," Mikayla puts up one finger to let him know the end of the count down and then points to him so he knows it is show time.

"Welcome back to the Mik and Nick morning show. To get you pumped up on this sunny day to go to work. We have some local news, long-time resident Carla Shelton is having a bake sale at the local church in town, on Church Street, the only church there you cannot miss it. She is raising funds to pay back her back taxes. She forgot to pay them for the last twenty years. She has a month to gather together two million dollars to pay off the IRS, if you want to help you can make donations at the station or you can attend her bake sales everyday all day for the rest of the month. An unknown person has turned in an anonymous letter with the name 'Juliet my love' on the envelope...if it sounds familiar to you, it can be claimed at the Sherriff's Office, on Water Street which is the only building there. Look, we have a caller. Hello caller, what is your name?"
"Hello Nick. My name is Juliet. Is that letter for me? What does it say?"

"Hi Juliet. Thank you for calling. I do not have the letter here in my hand. You will need to go down to the Sheriff's Office on Water Street to claim the letter."

"Is there any way the Sheriff can drop it off at your station? It is closer for me than the Sheriff's office."

"No. Sorry to cut you off there, I do have another caller here. Hello you are on the Mik and Nick show. What is your name?"

"Hi Mik. My name is Gertrude. I lost my cat Cinnamon. She is a small short haired orangey-red cat. I last saw her in my fridge. I have looked everywhere and I cannot find her."

"My name is Nick and my sidekick is Mik. Thank you for calling today Gertrude. Your cat passed away last year. Remember I was with you when it happened."

"Oh dear. I am so sorry for interrupting your show dear. Yes I remember now. I will talk to you later."

"Take care, Gertrude. This day is sure getting exciting let's throw on a song. We will be back in a few," Nick takes his headphones and sighs with relief when he hears the Pelican Song being played. "Thank you Mikayla we can get this phrase of the day over with."

"Anything for you Nick. Ten seconds till show time."

Nick quickly puts on his headphones and sees Mikayla pointing at him signaling they are on the air. "Welcome back to the Mik and Nick morning show. Guess, what time it is?"

Makayla pushes the talk button and says, "Phrase time...best time of the day."

"Yep. If you are the ninth caller and give us the correct phrase then you will win free tickets to see Red and the Boys in concert and back stage passes to meet the band. Who is out lucky caller today?"

"Hello. My name is Marty. Am I the caller? Did I win?"

"Hi Marty. We will find out soon if you are the winner. Do you know the phrase of the day?"

"The pelicans, sir, had nothing to do with it."

"Yes. Correct. Congratulations Marty. Please hold on the line so we can get your info. This is a request from Rita for the one she loves, A Thousand Years by Sarah Stockwell. Enjoy."
