A woman visits her fantasy world once too often and gets locked out of her own reality.
Ginger's Romance:
Ginger tipped her head back and gazed at herself in the mirror." I'm not a bad looking gal am I"? She pulled her long red hair up on top of her head and batted her bright green eyes. Her chubby pale face stared back at her. Truth is, she was not very beautiful at all, and she was about 50 pounds overweight. She pretended to be with a handsome man and curtsied as he bowed. She held out her hand for him to kiss and then followed him.
The two of them entered an elaborate dining room filled with crystal chandlers and fine lace.  A tall gentleman in a black suit and red tie seated them promptly and began reciting a list of wines, and other drinks. "Nothing but your very best please, we told him" and off he went to retrieve said wine.  As we set there gazing dreamily into each other's eyes, he held my hands and whispered sweet nothings into my ear.  Somewhere off in one corner, a piano began playing beautiful music and we stood up to dance. He held me close as we waltzed the night away. Dinner was fabulous and later that night we embraced on my door step for a long breathtaking kiss. I bid him good bye as I waved my kerchief, "I'll see you tomorrow my love," I shouted as he drove off. I'll see you tomorrow...
The clock on the wall chimed 12 and Ginger blinked and then sighed. She tied a big yellow ribbon in her hair and went down stairs. She lived alone and was a bit untidy. Dirty dishes were piled in the sink and the trash can was over flowing.  She grabbed some juice and the jelly from the refrigerator and popped some bread in the toaster. And as she waited she gazed at her reflection in the side of the toaster.
"How good it is to see you again", I spoke as I greeted my lover.  His hands graced mine as we walked along together. The blossoms were most beautiful this time of year, he assured me. Pink and white blooms lined a pathway to a quiet little park. There was a pond with ducks and a wooden bench on one side. He picked a white flower and placed it in my hair. We sat only momentarily before embracing in a kiss. His hands moved passionately across my body sending my head into a spin.  I found it most difficult to contain myself as well.
The toast popped up and Ginger frowned at the interruption. She grabbed the toast bread, sat down and spread a thick layer of jelly across it. She alternately took bites of her toast and sipped her juice till she had finished it all and then wiped her mouth on her sleeve. She then grabbed a leftover chicken leg from the refrigerator, bag of potato chips from the cupboard and a soda pop off the self before going into the living room. She sat down on the sofa and stared at the television.  The tv was not on but she could see her reflection in it.
Immediately I was with my lover again and I was sprawled out on a large bed while he ran his fingers through my hair. The red satin sheets felt cool on my skin but my body was hot for his touch.  He pulled me close to him and kissed me hard and passionately. His hands melted my body as he caressed my bosoms beneath my blouse. I wanted him now more than ever.  " Oh my gosh! No!", I screamed as I  hear a clock somewhere chiming. Somewhere out there in a pathetic little world, there is a pathetic little woman waiting, and this time I'm not going back." I spring out of the bed and tear a clock off the wall and smash it into a billion pieces. Then I go back to my lover in the bed and we continue our love making till we both are exhausted and satisfied.  After lying content in each other's arms for a while we get up and get dressed. I go into the bathroom to fix my hair and gaze into the mirror as I tie a big yellow ribbon in my hair. A short, fat little woman with red hair and green eyes stares back at me.
