PDG Poetic Pen Contest poem - Responsibility has hidden my dreams. Can I reawaken them?
To work, these hours press down on me.
They call to arms and force it out
The hopes and dreams that once lived free
Are now so filled with rabid doubt.

I hang my head in shame, in fears
Could this be all I have to give
Could this be all, I say through tears
My voice so weak; I want to live.

My wails rise up and shatter glass
I hide my face, let the pieces fly
Where are my days of wild and sass?
I push the tears aside and try.
