Congealing
Thy mortal wound
Somehow is healing
One day, maybe soon
It will become a scab
And then a noticeable scar
A subtle reminder of when
Life was at its brink
Thickening
Healing
Thus revealing
Another chance
Just one
Significance undone
Mortality left in check
God and the devil
Neither one is ready yet
Be assured
That the self-inflicted way
In which you tried
And failed
To impose your presence
In the kingdoms of hereafter
Has not gone unnoticed
Here
On the outside looking in
I’m quite sure
That you’ll pay a price
But then again
Maybe you already have
Your faith has been tested
Your strength increased
Resistant is no longer a state
But rather a willing place
You stand for something
What exactly, I don’t know
I’m not so sure that you do
Thickening
In constant wonderment
Over such an injury healing
Replacing death with life
Removing any real chance
Of what you alone intended
Replacing it with a wish
No doubt dreamt by another
A sacred prayer on your behalf
Just in time
Before an infection could set in
Again you have again been saved
From yourself and your own hands
But be assured
Show limited concern
Your god above won’t forget
And neither should you
Go forward into your life
What of it that now remains
Move on with a new found idea
That you are meant to be here
Thickening
Mine as well be salvation
Such an injury
Should have killed you
And now
The wound is healing just fine
Soon a scab will form
Leading to a noticeable scar
You of course won’t forget
Just maybe
That was the point
All along…
