A girl with scars. Will anyone ever admit something is wrong?
She tries her very best
To stay above the rest
She is running
While everyone else is succumbing

She avoids the dead eyes; on living bodies they don't belong
Their eyes show only one emotion: they long
Long for their next hit
For ciggerattes to be lit
For blades to hit arms
And those bodily harms

That feel so good
She flips her collar and lifts her hood
She knows to do this, she should

She's been hurt in every single way
But she still locks the sorrow away
Because when it comes down to it
Tears are just another way to admit

You cannot admit they hurt you
Or your chances for survival will be few
Her feelings she cannot vent
Because she is only an ugly dent

She will someday walk pass them all
She will not let her hurt tears fall
Because they do not deserve her hurt
She won't let them know they made her feel like dirt

They left their mark
On her heart
But if she plays the right cards
She can escape with only scars
