-Soul Confucius- by Keaton Foster Wise Correct Astute in neglect Forgetting it all Everything that is wrong Bullshiting the bullshitters Holy fuck they’ll believe anything Fools and heretics are the same Both wound up playing the game Who is really winning Those on the outside The spectators Those not playing Those unknowing Soul Confucius Looks good on a t-shirt But it does not translate well Into the reality of this hell Gimmicks always save face Truth is easily a waste Lies hold water In this ocean of hypocritical nuances Be prepared to be kicked Right in the God damn teeth When everything comes to bare Oh’ the hell is it gonna hurt Suffering in what we do Soul Confucius Not just An ancient Chinese philosopher But also a ridiculous slogan machine Used by people A few thousand years too late Many often ask, what does it mean What they really should be asking Is how does what it means Relate to me and my twisted life Abysmal would be the reply Unacceptable and denied Is the truth of what we find When we look deeper inside So only upon the surface Do many of us indeed live I am not one Deeper I always go Into the words between Those slogans spewed I am looking for much more An identity that I can admire A philosophy that I can tolerate And a purpose not put to waste Soul Confucius Not just and man or an idea Not just a slogan or a catchphrase But a base from which those of us On the outside looking in can leap Out into the ether we will fall Never finding ground as we soar Beyond most human rationale… Soul Confucius Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2014 |
